Energy is still a conservative industry in terms of technology. Despite the emergence of revolutionary innovative solutions, many of them are still difficult to break into the big picture.
For example, distributed generation may well become a worthy alternative to the centralized power system, as it is more attractive, understandable and predictable for the consumer. However, the implementation of distributed generation projects requires new conditions that the industry is still afraid to accept.

Experts say that a full-fledged power market is possible only if retail and distributed generation are combined; the latter is already considered to be a promising industry trend. The topic is not new; however, its development is accompanied by more questions than answers. Will distributed generation become a friend or a fellow traveler of the big energy sector?
