Russell Gold, Senior Energy Reporter for the Wall Street Journal, joins WINDPOWER

The numbers speak for themselves- recent analysis shows wind energy was America’s largest source of new electric generation capacity in 2015. Some news outlets have even declared an energy revolution is underway.

And the good news is likely to continue. 9.4 gigawatts (GW) of new wind are under construction, with an additional 4.9 GW in the advanced stages of development.

All of this means new opportunities are on the rise.

One of the best places to learn about them is during the Wind Industry Leaders Panel at WINDPOWER 2016. Always popular, this panel continually provides insightful conversation on what the big players are doing to drive progress, and what that means for the industry as a whole.

Last year, top-level executives from Pattern Energy Group, Inc., Vestas, Mortenson, Invenergy LLC, NextEra Energy, Inc, Enel North America, and Duke Energy Renewables discussed how to best achieve the Department of Energy Wind Vision goal of generating 20percent U.S. energy with wind by 2030, while providing economic value by increasing domestic jobs and manufacturing.

This year, with stability finally created by the long-term extension of the Production Tax Credit/Investment Tax Credit (PTC/ITC), panelists will have an especially unique outlook of this new era of wind.

And to shake things up, we’ll be bringing in some outside perspective as well. Russell Gold, Energy Fellow, University of Texas and Senior Energy Reporter at the Wall Street Journal, is joining the panel as moderator. At the Wall Street Journal, he is responsible for covering all facets of global energy, and his writings appear regularly in both the print and on-line editions. We’re excited to add his inquisitive mind to what is sure to be a lively discussion.
