Midway through our #WindPoweredSchools social media campaign, it’s a great time to highlight some of our favorite examples. Here’s a trio of videos showing how wind energy is furthering educational opportunities for students across the country.
In this upstate New York town, revenue from a wind project helped the school district offer new AP and college-level courses, build new athletic facilities and provide its students with new computers.
In Kansas, we hear a similar story from Westar Energy. The Spearville school district was able to build a new gym that’s become a hub for the entire community.
And through the National KidWind Challenge, students across the country tried their hand at designing a wind turbine. Maybe one of these will be wind power’s next big technological breakthrough.
